- 1). Turn the safety mechanism into the "Fire" position. Test the shaft on your spear gun to be sure it is properly engaged by pulling the shaft out of the release mechanism without pressing on the trigger. Return the safety back into "Safe" position.
- 2). Return the shaft retrieval line to the storage location on the gun and fully submerge the gun into the water before loading your spear gun.
- 3). Cock the sling by setting the gun butt against your hip or thigh while keeping the gun pointed downward, away from any persons or objects.
- 4). Pull back on the sling assembly's rubber ends by grasping one in each hand and position the wire into the notch located in the spear.
- 5). Move the safety into the "Fire" position only when about to shoot and keep your finger off the trigger until you are absolutely sure of your target. Check the safety often when swimming to make sure it has not accidentally become disengaged.
