- 1). Put together the worm gearing section. Attach the cylinder through the line guide. You will know the cylinder is attached when the tip of the line guide is completely flush with the upper slot. Insert the drive guide into the worm gearing. Screw the cap into place, turning it in a clockwise direction. Press the locking clip down with your hand.
- 2). Grease the gearing with synthetic grease.
- 3). Attach the side cover.
- 4). Put together the drag section. Press the collar down over the gearing section. You will hear a click when the collar is attached. Screw on the rod that maintains the spool. Press the cover down and fasten it in place. The teeth of the cover must fit within the grooves on the post.
- 5). Put together the handle section. Start by attaching the drag start, which is shaped like a star or wheel and is located on the side of the reel. Tighten it down, but do not cross-thread it. Hold the drag start snugly in your hand so it does not spin during this process. Install and tighten the washer. Screw the nut securely in place to lock the cap down.
- 6). Slide the spool onto the rod. Turn the gears out toward the tag end of the rod.
