- The kids are out of school, the temperature is rising: summer is officially in full-swing. It's time to make the most of the outdoors, abundant sunshine and warm summer evenings. It's time to get together with friends and loved ones and just have fun. Consider throwing a party for your friends and family. Select a theme for the party, call up your local party rental store, and throw a party that your attendees won't soon forget.
- Have your guests dress in appropriate golfing attire (plenty of plaid, polo shirts and caps to go around) and have them take part in either a nine hole or 18 hole mini golf tournament. You can rent portable miniature golf courses that will challenge your guests. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Pair random guests together as teammates and let them get to know each other through a fun challenge. Offer a hole-in-one contest. Serve golf-themed food and drinks for an added treat. Your guests will have fun mingling and watching others putt their way through the course.
- Bring your favorite Las Vegas casino to life this summer with a casino night party. Many party rental companies offer a variety of table games, from roulette to crap to blackjack. Set up several tables so that all of your guests may enjoy their turn versus Lady Luck. Some companies even rent dealers and pit bosses so they can keep on top of the action. Hire a couple of beautiful girls (or ask a couple of friends) to dress up as seductive cocktail waitresses to serve food and drinks, to complete the authentic casino feel. They can rent costumes from a local costume store. Offer door prizes and of course, don't play with real money.
- If there are a lot of children in your life, set up an inflatable theme park that will thrill them and occupy them for hours. Countless party rental places offer a variety of inflatable activities ranging from bouncy castles and slides of all shapes and sizes to water slides. Serve up a variety of ice cream complete with cones and sprinkles and offer different flavors of Sno Cones. You can rent Sno Cone machines as well. These ice cold items will be the perfect treat to cool everyone down. In addition to bouncy castles and slides, set up an inflatable obstacle course or rent sumo wrestling suits and let your guests challenge one another in a sumo tournament. Be sure to have plenty of space on your memory card--as the photo ops will surely be endless. This is the perfect idea for a birthday party or even a block party. While the kids play until their hearts' content, the adults can relax over food, drinks and good times.
- For a unique party that won't soon be forgotten, try a Wild West theme. The centerpiece, of course, is the mechanical bull that you will rent from your local party rental store. Pass out cowboy hats, bandannas and water guns to complete the effect. Rent inflatable bouncing horses for the kids to bounce around on. Set up a saloon area where guests can kick up their heels and throw back a beer or two while watching their fellow guests battle the bucking bull. Other ideas include a game of horseshoes, a dart throwing contest (you can rent dartboards as well) and a lasso contest. Be sure to photograph each guest or groups of guests with their hats and bandannas on, guns blazing. After the party, you can e-mail or mail them their photos for a memorable keepsake.
