How to Make a Synthetic Wig Appear Less Shiny

    Baby Powder

    • 1). Pour 1 tablespoon of baby powder onto a powder puff.

    • 2). Lightly dust your synthetic wig with the powder puff.

    • 3). Hold the wig over a garbage can and shake out the excess powder.

    • 4). Comb through the wig with a wide toothed comb to evenly distribute the powder.

    Vinegar

    • 1). Fill a clean sink with 1/2 gallon of water and 2 cups of white or apple cider vinegar.

    • 2). Soak your synthetic wig in the vinegar solution for five minutes.

    • 3). Drain the sink and rinse the wig, thoroughly, with cold water.

    • 4). Allow the wig to air dry, then style as usual.

    Fabric softener

    • 1). Combine 1 part fabric softener with 1 part water, in a small bucket.

    • 2). Soak your synthetic wig in the mixture for ten minutes.

    • 3). Remove the wig from the bucket and rinse with cold water.

    • 4). Allow the wig to air dry and style as usual.
