- Satsuma fragrance oils are used to scent a variety of products, including soaps, candles and many bath and body products. To scent soaps and candles, manufactures make different satsuma blends. One blend for soaps and candles includes the scent of oranges, orange flowers, mango, lime, peach, mandarin and jasmine. A bath and body products scent is made up of a blend of citrus and sweet orange.
- Premium grade satsuma fragrance oil is considered the best all-purpuse oil, according to the Georgia Body and Bath website. The oil is used for candle making and to make MP soap and CP soap. MP soap is the melt and pour process that is done by melting chunks of already-made soap and then adding the satsuma fragrance oil. CP soap is the cold process soap that is made from scratch with lye and oils added.
- The cosmetics grade of satsuma fragrance oil can be used directly on the skin as a safe perfume oil and it can also be burned for its aroma. The cosmetics grade satsuma oil cannot be used to make candles, soaps, cosmetics and lotions.
- The manufacturer's grade of satsuma fragrance oil is the oil that is used to make cosmetics, perfumes, creams and lotions. Manufacturer's grade satsuma oil is also used for candle-making.
- Different manufacturers create their own satsuma blends. One blend is built on a base of oakmoss and sweet musk with a citrus mix of mandarin, grapefruit and lemon; with Italian bergamot, a hint of fig and notes of apple, mango, peach and raspberry. Another blend mixes tangerine with lime, bergamot, tropical lily, musk and dried tea leaves.
