- 1). Read the amount of the late-penalty fee on the back of the ticket. Many tickets will indicate if there's a late fee and how much it is.
- 2). Contact the ticketing authority in person or by phone, and request the late-fee amount. If you're unsure of whom to contact, check the city/county the ticket was issued in and what kind of ticket it was. Traffic and parking tickets are often paid directly to the county court. Parking tickets are also issued by private agencies, such as university campus police. Contact the private agency directly in those cases.
- 3). Visit the website on the ticket. Most sites will require you to enter the violation number on the ticket or your license plate number. Any overdue fees you owe will be shown when your ticket information is accessed.
