Spain recently played a match against Argentina in Buenos Aires and wound up losing by a dramatic 4-1 score-line.

Iker Casillas, star goal-keeper of the Spanish national side which recently won the FIFA World Cup, confirmed his love for his girlfriend of many years, Sara Carbonero, by kissing her at the moment whne Spain defeated the Netherlands and was crowned as champion of the World Cup for the first time in its history.

Sara Carbonero, a sports journalist, quickly became one of the most envied women in the world for dating the young and handsome Spaniard, and their romance became a thing of romance stories.

Prior to the aforementioned match in Argentina, which raised several questions about Spain's commitment to defending its honor as defending champion, the young players that make up the Spanish soccer team went out to party in downtown Buenos Aires, according to local media reports in Argentina.

They drank the night awake and have since fallen under scrutiny back home, where commentators decried the loss as a lack of commitment to the fans and the flag.

Revista Paparazzi, an Argentina gossip magazine, reported yesterday that Iker Casillas had an affair that evening with Luciana Salazar, a dancer and a former contestant on an Argentine television program.

Adding to the seediness of the allegations, Salazar and Casillas were presumably introduced by Gonzalo Higuain, an Argentine player who plays at the local level for Real Madrid.  Higuain, a teammate of Casillas on Real Madrid's roster, had reportedly had relations with Salazar in the past and was of the opinion that the two would like each other.

Casillas, a superstar in the world of soccer and, according to some, the best goal-keeper in the world, denies everything and is hinting at legal action against the Argentine magazine for the crime of libel.

So far, only a day after the allegations were made, the fall-out is unclear and no reporter has been able to speak to Casillas' girlfriend, Carbonero.

What is certain is that the rumors will continue to fly, not only in Buenos Aires but also in Madrid and throughout South America and Europe.
