Walk, Bus, Bike to San Francisco Pride Parade and Events - Just Don"t Drive



When you’re hosting the largest LGBT convergence in the country, you gotta make some traffic adjustments. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency website has information about traffic and public transit routes affected by San Francisco Pride events during this last weekend in June. The bottom line: If you want to get anywhere near Civic Center, Market Street, Dolores Park or the Castro, do anything but drive.

Here are some of the major streets that are to be closed.

Dyke March
June 26, starting about 6 pm:

  • Dolores Street, between 17th and 20th streets.
  • March route: 18th Street, between Dolores and Valencia; Valencia, from 18th to 16th; 16th Street, from Valencia to Market.

Pink Saturday
June 26 at 5:30 pm – June 27 at 1 am:

  • Castro Street, between 19th and 15th.
  • Market Street, between Noe and Diamond.
  • 18th Street, between Diamond and Noe.
  • Security at the five entry gates will confiscate outside alcohol and objects that could be construed as weapons.

San Francisco Pride Celebration
Take BART or MUNI to Civic Center station.
June 25 at 9 am – June 28 at 6 a m:

  • Grove between Polk and Larkin.
  • Fulton between Hyde and Larkin.

June 25 at 8 pm – June 28 at 6 am:
  • Larkin between Hayes and Golden Gate Ave.
  • Grove between Hyde and Van Ness.

June 26th at 8 pm - June 28 at 6 am:
  • The area bounded by Van Ness Avenue, Turk, Market and Leavenworth streets.

San Francisco Pride Parade
June 27 at 7 am:

  • Beale between Market and Folsom.


  • Market between Beale and Steuart.
  • Steuart and Spear streets, between Market and Mission.

June 27 at 9:30 am:
  • Market between the Embarcadero and Van Ness.

June 27 at 10 am:
  • Market Street intersections between Steuart and Van Ness. (The Embarcadero and Van Ness are open for through traffic).
  • Mission Street between the Embarcadero and 12th Street: No parking; cars will be towed.
