- 1). Tug gently at the paper bag until all the creases of it are nice and even.
- 2). Look at the two largest flat sides of the paper bag, and locate the side that has an extra horizontal crease in it.
- 3). Place the paper bag on its "back"--in other words, lay it flat--with the extra horizontal crease facing up and the bottom of the bag facing toward you.
- 4). Place your thumbs on the bottom of the bag, near the upper edge. Pinch the bottom of the bag between your thumbs and forefingers--the forefingers should be near the horizontal crease.
- 5). Press the upper edge of the bag's bottom forward and down, away from you. This should cause the bag to fold up along the extra horizontal crease. The sides of the bag should tuck in quite naturally as you push the bottom down, until the entire bag lays flat.
