But those rumors were just speculation, just the hopes of the millions of SYTYCD fans across America and around the world.
Finally, Fox.
com has announced the premiere date-Thursday, May 27, 2010.
We can only hope that Fox will stick to its guns.
A New Twist to Season 7 Season 7 will be a little different from past seasons.
Instead of the usual 20 finalists, the judges will narrow their scope to only 10 dancers.
But don't worry, that doesn't make the season any shorter.
Each week the judges will eliminate only one dancer instead of the usual male and female.
I know what you're thinking.
How is that going to work? You can't leave one dancer without a partner.
Here's another season 7 twist.
Each week, the dancers will be partnered with a different So You Think You Can Dance finalist from seasons past who are skilled in particular dance genres.
Fox has dubbed these the "So You Think You Can Dance All-Star Dancers.
" The Season 7 All-Star Dancers So who are these All-Stars? Fox has announced the list of the twelve past favorites who will return to the So You Think You Can Dance stage:
