Locate the days on which each of the moon's phases will be the most prominent. For example, the moon's crescent will wane for several days before it is truly referred to as a "waning crescent." With the help of a lunar calendar, learn the days that mark the truest representation of the moon's individual phases.

    • 2). Learn the symbols used to represent the moon's phases. These, rather than words, are often used in conjunction with Gregorian calendars to show the phases of the moon. For example, in 2011, February's full moon is due to rise on the 18th. Therefore, it is represented by a filled-in circle to show that it is full. Conversely, a new moon is represented by an unshaded circle, a waning crescent is represented by a C-shaped crescent and a waxing crescent is represented by an inverse waning crescent.

    • 3). Superimpose the symbols of the lunar calendar onto the respective dates of the anytime organizer. Note that the two calendars do not match up completely -- the lunar calendar is about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian calendar. However, both can still be used in conjunction with one another.
