- 1). Apply costume face putty with your finger from the side of your mouth out toward your ears. The putty should form a thin jagged line about an inch long in each direction. Try not to make the line perfectly straight, it should be bumpy and jagged. The Joker has scarring on both sides of his mouth that makes it look like he has a very wide smile. You may need to apply a few coats to get it bumpy and jagged. Allow the putty to dry before moving on.
- 2). Cover your face with white stage makeup. Follow your hairline around your face from your forehead to your ears and then work your way down your neck. Cover the scars created in Step 1.
- 3). Apply a red lipstick on your lips and trace the scars created in Step 1. Use your finger to smear the lipstick around your mouth and over the scarring. It should look messy on your face.
- 4). Apply black eye shadow, or black eyeliner, around your eyes. Cover from the top of your eye lid up to your eyebrows and then down under your eye. Use your finger to rub it around and smear it so it is not a smooth application.
- 5). Spray your hair with green hairspray. Most party or costume stores sell colored hairspray. If you have long hair, apply some gel to it and crimp it with your hands by scrunching it up before using the hairspray.
- 6). Put on your costume attire. Wear a purple dress shirt, a green tie, a green vest, a purple suit jacket and purple dress slacks along with black gloves and black dress shoes.
