Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Start with unwashed hair. Hair that hasn't been washed in a day or two will have more texture, which works well with this style. If your hair is already washed or needs some extra volume, spritz it with a texturizing spray to create a rougher finish.
2
Part your hair in your choice of a center or side part.
3
Wrap one-inch sections of hair around a curling iron. If you want a looser curl, opt for a large-barrel iron, leaving the ends out to create a slightly more undone look. For tighter curls, a small-barrel iron will do the trick. If you have naturally curly hair, skip this step all together.
4
Wait for the curls to cool, and then pull your hair back and to the side. Haphazardly twist and pin your hair into a bun shape. The key is to make the look messy, so however your hair naturally falls into your bun will work.
5
Make the look more messy by leaving out a few pieces of hair in the front. This is optional, but a bit of face-framing, undone hair adds another dimension to your messy asymmetrical look.
