- Centerpieces are an important part of many celebrations, from proms to weddings, birthday parties or anniversary celebrations. Fish bowls are popular and inexpensive anchors for many lovely centerpieces that can add style or fun to otherwise boring tables at your next celebratory function.
- Many wedding receptions feature fish in the fish bowls. Two fish represent the couple during this important day. You can decorate the fish bowl with rocks that are the same as the wedding's colors and tie a bow on the outside of the bowl in this color as well. Make sure to have a tank to keep all of the fish in after the event. Many times guests choose to take the bowls home with them.
- Turn the fish bowls into edible centerpieces by placing candy inside each. This is a great idea if the party is for Halloween, Christmas or Easter or even a more casual wedding. For Halloween, place individually wrapped candies that feature traditional Halloween colors such as orange and black. Christmas centerpieces can feature red and green candies or miniature candy canes. For Easter, place small chocolate rabbits or candies coated in pastel colors. For a wedding, the candy can double as favors for your guests. Choose wrapped candy in the same color scheme as your wedding.
- Place a few floating candles inside a fish bowl filled with plain water. To make these more personalized for an event, dye the water a color that matches the party's theme, or place colored rocks in the bottom of the bowl. Floating candles also come in a variety of different shapes such as squares, roses or leaves. If the party has a romantic theme, place a mirrored charger plate underneath the bowl to make the water shine and the candles reflect light across the room.
