Death Hollow Trip 2

Death Hollow is different every time. The first trip I wrote about is completely different than this second trip. We went with some of the same people as the first but some newer people that included me. We started the first day at three in the morning. We did this so we weren't hiking in the hot sun. That first day was perfectly fine. We ran into the spring and there was water in the spring. Dirty water but there was water. The people that went on the trip before showed us where they were just dying for water. We came to a awesome pool. We decided to stay there for the night. We rolled these huge boulders off a hundred foot cliff into the water. We also went on a little hike in the night. It was a great day. No problems. We thought we were out of all the problems Death Hollow could throw at us. After this trip the part before was easy. We started out having to wade through water waist deep. The water was ice cold. Than we came to a place we had to swim for a long time. The bitter water made it really hard. I was almost hyperthermic. Eventually we came to a fire. We got warm there and kept hiking. It rained for a lot of the time. We were in the narrows and so we hiked really fast to get out of there in case there was a flash flood. We made it out ok. Than we found an alcove out of the rain to sleep in. It was full of poison ivy and bear poop. But it was heaven for us. We built a huge bonfire. But in the middle of the night we heard the bear twice running in the river and breaking branches close by. We were scared to death. But eventually morning came and it poured rain. It was a waterfall on both sides of the cliff. We started rationing food and had 1 serving for seven people. Eventually it stopped and we kept hiking. There had been a flash flood cause there were broken branches and trees everywhere. We hiked until dark. We couldn't find our way out. We hiked for another 5 hours but eventually had to just put up camp. We had to stay another night. Family and friends would get worried. The next morning we found our way out. We called the ranger station and they said it hadn't rained the whole time. But it poured. It was an extremely difficult trip but I am glad I can say I survived Death Hollow.
