Vacationing in Colorado

When you think of Colorado you often think of the ski slopes and lots of snow in the winter and that's exactly what you'll find in February.
There are also many more events that will take place as well that are very interesting and cultural.
In Steamboat Springs you are going to find the annual Winter Carnival.
This is an annual celebration that includes many events that portray Steamboat Springs western heritage as well as winter sports.
You will find events ranging from ski jumping and snowboarding to chariot racing and the diamond hitch parade which includes the high school band on skis and kids being pulled by horses.
At the end of the weekend there is a huge fireworks display and the Lighted Man.
Not only is this event a local favorite, but great for visitors as well.
Romance in the Rockies is a week of romantic events to keep with the Valentine's spirit.
Crested Butte is considered one of the most romantic ski resorts and provides a variety of unique opportunities for visitors and locals alike.
Visit the Aspen Santa Fe ballet, the Valentine Chocolates Cooking Class, the Hospice Art Benefit Exhibition and, of course, the Rockies and great skiing.
Crested Butte also hosts the Annual US Extreme Freeskiing Championships.
Crested Butte was the first to launch an extreme skiing contest.
Competitors vie for cash prizes and other great prizes from the sponsors.
The venues are accessible by blue-level skiers and snowboarders and a short hike may be required.
So, when in Colorado you must see to see the most extreme events! In Kremmling you will find the Wolford Snowmobile Drag Races & Radar Runs.
Snowmobilers are matched together by skill level and then they fly across the ice for a chance to win cash prizes and trophies.
The event is held at the Wolford Mountain Reservoir.
The second weekend in February marks the WinterFest and Balloon Rally in Pagosa Springs.
Visitors and locals are invited to enjoy a morning of balloon ascensions as well as other winter festivities.
There are also great skiing, sleds and snowmobiles.
Colorado is full of treasures.
February is prime skiing season and there is sure to be snowfall wherever you go.
All events will also tend to focus around the great outdoors and related winter activities.
Be sure to pack warm and bundle up as well.
All the cities also have a lot of local performing arts events in addition to their winter activities.
