How to Handle the Scary Parts of Hemorrhoids - Part 2

In Part 1 of this series, the notion that there is an emotional side to dealing with Hemorrhoids was introduced.
The emotional pain can be just as painful or more so than the physical pain of hemorrhoids.
These emotions can cause fear and anxiety and really are the beginning of impairing what we can do and how we live our life.
The solution to calming our fears for Phase 1 emotional attacks is to go to the Doctor and receive a medical diagnosis.
Read on to see what the solution is for the Phase 2 emotional attacks.
Part 1 of this series also introduced the possibility that there are 5 phases of scary, negative feelings in dealing with hemorrhoids.
These 5 Phases consist of the following:
  • Phase 1 - The initial onset of the condition
  • Phase 2 - The diagnosis by a doctor
  • Phase 3 - The treatment process
  • Phase 4 - The need for surgery
  • Phase 5 - The post surgery and beyond
In the rest of this article (Part 2), we are going to consider the emotional battles that begin after the diagnosis by a doctor.
Diagnosis by the Doctor You finally decide to go to the Doctor.
After the examination, the Doctor confirms that you have hemorrhoids.
You are assured that it is not generally a critical problem, it is a common condition, and there is a treatment regimen that should work over time.
Before you leave the Doctor, ensure that you find out as much information about your condition as you can.
Ask such things as:
  • Is the condition internal or external?
  • How long will it last?
  • What is the best hemorrhoids treatment?
  • What causes hemorrhoids?
The answers to these questions and others will help you to handle the wave of emotions that will sweep over you after you leave the Doctor.
And it will happen.
You might feel better knowing that you can apply a name or condition to your symptoms.
But, unless you are fully aware of what you are dealing with, you could become overwhelmed in your doubts and fears.
Phase 2 emotions (in no particular order)
  • Initial relief which might be followed by depression.
  • Anger that this is happening to you or anger at the Doctor.
It is just part of our nature to want to blame someone else.
  • Bewilderment over the unknown and the lack of positive feedback depending on what the Doctor told you.
What to do To handle this wave of emotions, you need to do one or both of the following:
  • Ask your Doctor all the questions that you can think of to remove as much of the doubt and fear from your mind as you can.
  • Access the Internet when you get home and start doing all the research that you can about hemorrhoids and hemorrhoids treatments.
For these Phase 2 emotions, you need knowledge to keep your feelings in check.
You want to put yourself in the frame of mind that will lead toward a cure.
While you are doing your research, you will come across information about the 48 hour hemorrhoids cure.
Do not ignore searching down that path.
It could save you a lot of pain physically and emotionally.
In Part 3 of this series, we examine the emotional pain associated with the traditional treatment process.
