- 1). Wrap a towel around your neck to soak up any water that falls from the hat.
- 2). Soak the hat under warm water.
- 3). Bend the brim of the hat with your hands. (Since most hats are made from wool or a wool blend, they can be easily shaped once they're wet.) Slide three rubber bands around the brim to hold it in that curved position.
- 4). Blot the hat with a few pieces of paper towel to soak up some of the excess water.
- 5). Put the hat on your head, and leave it on until the hat has dried. Although this may be uncomfortable for a couple hours, wearing the wet hat will shape it perfectly to your head.
- 6). Remove the hat from your head once it has dried, and remove the rubber bands.
