0: Cost vs.
Price Make sure when you are evaluating your investment in upgrading or switching to QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 9.
0 that you fully understand the difference between cost and price.
Price is pretty simple as it is what you actually pay for a given product or service.
Cost is a little more difficult to ascertain sometimes, as it often includes many more variables, but it is of critical importance for you to understand these in order to make an educated purchase.
We will touch more on "cost" later.
Price of QuickBooks Software: According the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) provided by Intuit, a 5-user license of QB Enterprise Solutions 9.
0 is $3,000.
A 15-user license of the same program has an MSRP of $7,000 and the 30 user license "retails" for $13,000.
You can see there is some economy of scale as you move up in volume.
The cost per seat actually drops by close to 50% from $600/user at the 5-license level to just over $400/license with the 30 seat package.
While these prices are a lot more affordable than what you see charged for other institutional grade accounting platforms, we will show you how to pay even less.
QuickBooks Reseller Prices: Intuit has scores of resellers across the nation, many of which will offer to let you buy QuickBooks software at a discount to MSRP.
While this is a better deal than buying from Intuit directly, you typically are only going to save a couple hundred dollars or so from MSRP.
This is better than nothing, but still not good enough.
QuickBooks Pricing from Power Resellers: Just as you would imagine, "Power" resellers are the ones doing the most volume.
Unfortunately there is not a "power reseller" designation provided by Intuit, but these power resellers are not hard to find.
You just need to look for the ones doing the most volume in the nation.
The dealers moving the most product operate on economies of scale and make their money in volume, not margins.
As such, they typically offer lower discounts on QuickBooks than regular vendors as these lead to the higher sales volumes they need.
Lowest QuickBooks Cost: As mentioned earlier, price and cost are not the same.
We just discussed how to get the best price on QuickBooks Enterprise, but we need to revisit our discussion of "cost".
After you purchase QuickBooks Enterprise for the best price, you will still need to integrate the software with your business.
Make sure you have a firm handle on this cost before selecting your solutions provider.
The great news is that the power Intuit dealers we referenced above typically offer the lowest integration costs as well.
Again, the reason they were able to reach the volumes to allow them to offer the best pricing relates back to their own ability to control costs.
Put differently, these organizations are simply more efficient, which they are able to pass along to you by giving you more for your investment.
