DIY Hair Extensions

    Hair Wefts

    • A wavy hair texture will help the extension blend in effectively with your natural hair. Buy some human hair wefts at a beauty supply store. These wefts come in different colors, so you can choose the one that is closest to the color of your hair or a shade or two darker. You can also dye the weft to the exact color that you want.

    Attach To Clips

    • Cut the weft at how long and wide you want it to be. Buy some snap clips at your beauty supply store. You will need to either sew your hair wefts to these snaps with heavy duty thread or use a hot glue gun. Depending on how wide your hair wefts are you will need between one-to-four clips to securely hold your extension in place.

    Finishing Up

    • Make an even line where you want your extension to be clipped in. Make sure that the line you make is straight so that no stray hairs will be pulled at. Spray the bottom of the line with hairspray and tease the hair to create a strong base for your clip to hang on to. Style you hair the way you want it separately from your extension before you put it in. If you want curls be sure to curl your extension and then your real hair. If you try to curl or straighten your real hair and extensions at the same time you might accidentally pull the extensions out.
