The Importance Of Rest When Dealing With Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia basically is the result of too many toxins, lack of proper nutrients and overexertion of the muscles. This causes the muscles to become cramped or they go into spasms, and overtime it can lead to many other symptoms as well. Therefore it is very important that you take good care of yourself and get proper rest so that your body can heal properly.

Hot Bath

A hot bath can be very relaxing both for your muscles as well as your mind. You can add essential oils to you bath water, light some candles and put on some relaxing music and just allow your muscles to rest.

A hot bath will not only help you to relax but it will promote your body to sweat out harmful toxins that are contributing to your symptoms. Thus the more often you take a hot bath, the sooner you will recover from fibromyalgia.

Comfortable Bed

If you find that your bed is uncomfortable and that you cannot sleep at night, then you may want to consider getting a new mattress, as getting adequate sleep is very important.

Keep Warm

Keep a warm blanket on your couch to help keep you warm when you are relaxing at the end of the day, as any cool draft can cause your symptoms to flare up.

Take a Leave of Absence

If your job is physically demanding then you should take a leave of absence or at least ask to be moved to a lighter job. Chances are that it was your job that aggravated your muscles in the first place. Thus it is important that you stop aggravating them.

Yoga

When dealing with fibromyalgia you want to be very careful that you do not over exercise your muscles, as that will only aggravate them even more. But yoga exercises that are designed for fibromyalgia patients can help you to stretch your muscles without aggravating your them. These exercises are also very relaxing, and can even help you to fall into a deep sleep at night.

Meditation

Meditation is also an excellent way for you to be able to relax your mind and body. Simply sitting cross legged on the floor, with your palms resting on your knees and while keeping your back straight can leave you feeling like a brand new person. The beauty of this is that you can do this as often as you like, whenever you begin to get sore.
