How to Create a 360 Panorama of a Room

  • 1). Attach the wide-angle lens to the camera body. Mount the camera on the tripod in the approximate center of the room. Set the tripod so that the camera shoots straight ahead several inches below your eyeline.

  • 2). Take a series of pictures of the room, turning the camera counterclockwise slightly after every shot. Ensure that each photo's composition will overlap the previous shot by at least 25 percent.

  • 3). Stitch the photos together manually in a photo editing program such as Photoshop, or automatically in Photovista Panorama or Autostitch. Start automatic stitching by making sure all of the photos you took are in order in one file. Open either of the auto programs and select them in the stitching menu. Photostitch Panorama may ask for the type of lens you used. Click "Stitch" in either program to complete the process. Stitch the room panorama in Photoshop by adding the photos to the file and arrange them so that the elements in the overlapping portions of the images are aligned. Crop out excess on the borders of the panorama so that it is rectangular. Save the new file.
