How to Figure Out the Square Feet for a Daycare Center

    • 1). Measure the length of the first room in your daycare center. Use a tape measure to find the exact length, in feet.

    • 2). Use a tape measure to find the width of the first room in your daycare center. As with the length measurement, the width measurement will be in feet.

    • 3). Multiply your daycare center room's length by its width. This will give you the square footage of the room. If your length was 25 feet and your width was 25 feet, 25 x 25 = 625 square feet.

    • 4). Repeat this process for the rest of the rooms in your daycare center. Find the square footage of each room individually. Write these numbers down.

    • 5). Add together the square footage measurements for all the rooms in your daycare center. If one room was 625 square feet, one was 500 square feet and one was 350 square feet, 625 + 500 + 350 = 1,475. Your daycare center would be 1,475 square feet in total.
