- 1). Use the pencil to draw an outline of a crow on tracing paper. Cut the crow out to serve as a template to fashion your crow decoy.

Wire hanger bent to form a crow outline
Bend the triangular part of the wire hanger, following the paper crow template, keeping the hook "hanging" part intact. - 3). Wrap the crow-shaped wire hanger with electrical tape, completely encasing it so no wire is showing and the piece looks solid black.

Completed Crow Decoy
Straighten the hook part of the hanger. This straight wire piece will serve as a stake you can push into the ground. The appearance from long range will be that of a crow grazing. The wire piece can also be wrapped around a small tree branch to anchor the decoy to give the illusion of a crow resting in a tree. - 5). Trace the outline of a crow onto a piece of cardboard using the crow template for creating another type of decoy.
- 6). Cut the crow out of the cardboard and then spray paint both sides of the crow cut-out black and allow it to dry.
- 7). Use the wire cutters to cut two equal pieces of wire from a wire hanger to serve as stakes.
- 8). Insert the wire pieces into the cardboard crow cut-out and then push into the ground.
