- 1). Hang the necktie around your neck, so that the broader end of the neck tie is on the right side of your body. Pull the broader end down a bit, so it hangs 12 inches lower than the skinny end.
- 2). Turn the neck tie, so the reverse end of the tie is facing upward.
- 3). Cross the skinny end of the tie over the broad side. Grab the broad side of the tie and wrap it around the skinny tie, so you end up pulling the broad end of the tie toward your right side.
- 4). Pull the wide end of the tie from the right side and under and through the loop made by the tie around your neck.
- 5). Pull the wide end of the tie down through the loop, over the knot that's in the center of the tie and towards the left. Wrap the wide end under the front knot, bringing it towards your right side.
- 6). Pull the broad end of the tie from the right up through the loop that the tie makes around your neck. Pull it back down through the loop, going under the front knot towards the left.
- 7). Wrap the broad end of the tie back around the front knot, pulling the wide end of the tie toward the right.
- 8). Pull the wide end of the tie from the right up through the loop that the tie makes around your neck. Slide one finger underneath the top layer of your front knot and slide the wide end of the tie through this opening.
- 9). Tighten the tie by pulling up on the knot towards your neck and pulling down on the narrow end of the tie.
