- 1). Sketch a "wire frame" of your website or a sketch of the arrangement of relevant information on each page of your website. Give thought to the logical sequence of information for your website and how a user should be navigate it.
- 2). Using your wire frame sketch and image editing software, design your website. Your website should accommodate common screen resolutions such as 1200 x 768 pixels. Design your website to a width of approximately 900 pixels. This accommodates most modern monitors.
- 3). Use XHTML or eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language, to markup the information you'll need to present on each page. Make sure that the page is structured in a neat and logical fashion.
- 4). Use CSS to manipulate the document you created until it looks like the mock-up sketch you created.
