How to Remove Black Stains From Wood Floors

    • 1). Rub a pencil eraser on a piece of white paper to remove any pencil lead. Gently rub the pencil eraser over the scuff mark, as if you were erasing a pencil mark. Work your way over the black mark until it is completely gone, then vacuum or sweep the pencil eraser shavings. If the stain persists, move on to the next step.

    • 2). Cut a small "X" in the top of a tennis ball, and insert a broom handle inside. Rub the tennis ball over the top of the scuff mark like a vacuum cleaner or mop to polish away the scuff. If the stain persists, continue to step three.

    • 3). Mix two tablespoons of baking soda with a few drops of warm water, using just enough water to form a paste. Dip a soft rag into the paste, and rub it on the scuff mark. Wipe the paste away with a clean rag until the stain is gone.
