- 1). Put the clean cloth down on a work surface. Take the laser pen and twist the end of the pen until the glue holding the casing over the laser comes loose. Unscrew the casing from the laser pen. Put the casing down on the clean cloth.
- 2). Turn the pen around and unscrew the battery compartment lid from the end of the laser pen. Remove the batteries from inside the body of the laser pen and throw them away. Put the battery compartment lid aside.
- 3). Turn the laser pen back around so that the end with the laser faces you.
- 4). Carefully twist the laser loose from the glue holding it to the body of the pen with the needle nosed pliers. Put the laser and the body of the pen down on the clean cloth.
- 5). Tighten the screw at the exposed end of the laser with the appropriately sized micro screwdriver.
- 6). Take the moderately hot soldering iron and hold the tip against the component above the screw for a couple of seconds. This will disable the component whose purpose is to regulate the laser's intensity.
- 7). Reverse the disassembly process to put the laser pen back together.
Insert new batteries into the laser pen and close the battery compartment lid. The laser will now emit a stronger light and is even powerful enough to light a match from a couple of inches away.
