- The ultimate mama, Mother Nature is a figure that goes back to ancient times with the goddess Demeter as the Greek mother of fields and harvest. Green is the chosen color for a Mother Nature Halloween costume, symbolizing the fertility of Earth. Mothers can choose a sexy cocktail-length dress if they are getting out for a night without the kids for a costume party or a more ornate gown for trick-or-treating with the kids. Both types of costumes can be bought in stores or online and accessorized with twigs, leaves, flowers and other products of nature.
