Religion and State are One and the Same: the Two are inseparable: a Must for every society
Religion is a moral code and a vision for man's life in concert with other men. The state is a concert of men and must have a moral code, this code is religion. Religion is a natural law of conduct and the state is the only place where such natural law is applied. The state without religion is as religion without state.
Both are the same, both are in one. Take away the moral code from people's life and then you turn the whole society into an a moral or immoral human gathering and then whatever evil that is embedded in the human nature comes out to dominate. Morality teaches how to live according to good values. Good, being the ultimate goal of any society as Aristotle specifies, is founded on good morality.
For. if evil only reigns then total destruction is inflicted e/g/ wars, especially orld War II where mad men with pure evil inside them like Hitler, Musoloni and HeroHito, Stalin would emerge to reign and apply their own code of immorality to the world. The result was the loss of fifty five millions of innocent lives and the destruction of Europe and Japan as well as many other places on earth.
Good morality prescribes good thinking, good feeling and good actions. Human nature in its basic structure is made up of good and evil. These two paradoxical opposites are found in every human being, man, woman, child or old. It is in constant opposition and strife. Sometimes the one takes the upper hand and wins the battle and sometimes the other side gains over the soul.
Paradoxical oppositions in the human nature do only cover these two aspects but also paradoxes like love and hatred, the tendency to live and the tendency to die, hope and fear, friendship and enmity, desire to kill and desire to give life, desire to steal and desire to restore what is right, right and wrong, and the list is long, you can make it out for yourself. Our mind is the judge between the two.
But the mind needs the impulse of its natural code of morality to work out the difference and choose the right path. Religion is a parallel code congruent with the natural law in man. It strengthen it and it preserves it. It is then up to the individual person to be the arbitrator between good and evil and every paradoxical tendency he, or she, have. It is up to every individual person to go either way.
Society is a restrictive conglomeration of individuals coming together to satisfy their needs of sociability and survival as well as other needs that are essential for humans, such as security, self-esteem and self-actualization. The relations between individuals are regulated by laws and codes of morality.
Without morality a society becomes a place for evil doing. This underlies the difference between the laic state and the church state. But in reality the so called laic state applies its moral codes in which all civil and criminal codes of laws are founded on moral laws. Otherwise, crime and terror reigns.
Examine every constitution in every society and you will see a moral code distinclty present ,underlying all its precepts and articles. Good is the criterion to do away with evil: this is what constitutions are all about. No society advocate sin its principles evil and wrong-doing, otherwise, it is an evil society. International relations are based fundamentally on moral codes.
Christ has said: ‘Give unto man what belongs to man and give unto the God what belongs to God.' But this does not mean in any way that state ought to be separated from church for the church represents the moral code needed for the state. In fact throughout the centuries the Christian moral code applies and still does in every Christian society.
Look into the nature and foundation of any criminal law or any civil law in any state where Christians live then you will see for yourself to what extent the notion of good and evil dominates in accordance with religious principles.
The Torah defines and regulates all human actions, thoughts and feelings in accordance only with the divine message of religion. In Islam it is exactly the same. Religion is the state and the state is but religion.
Take away religion from men's life and you turn the society immediately to a mafia society. But even the mafia society has its proper codes of morality or immorality.
No human being can possibly live without codes of morality, even criminals abide by such a code, otherwise, the prison is waiting, where they are forced to go back and concede to the moral code of the prison itself.
Religion depicts universal vision for men. It is the criterion of judgment in this world and it is the criterion of jugment in the hereafter, whether you believe or not. Take away religion and you take away the meaning of life!
Those who pretend that we can separate the state and moral codes shut their eyes like ostriches. It is impossible to separate the two. Look for yourself!
