- 1). Turned off the power to the stove's junction box in your service panel.
- 2). Remove the cover of the junction box by taking out the screw securing it in place.
- 3). Install a UL-listed strain on the stove's conduit wire, following installation instructions provided with the strain relief. Pass the stove's conduit wire through the hole in the junction box, then secure it in place, using the strain relief nut.
- 4). Twist the ends of the black junction box wire and the black conduit wire together and secure with a wire nut. Do the same procedure with the red junction box wire and the red conduit wire as well as the corresponding white wires.
- 5). Add a wire nut to the end of the bare or green wire from the conduit wire, if the junction box has only three wires. If the junction box has four wires, twist the ends of the green or bare junction box wire and the green or bare conduit wire together and secure with a wire nut.
- 6). Replace the cover of the junction box.
