How to Remove Spray Paint From Stamped Concrete

    • 1). Apply a few drops of olive oil to a rag. Apply the olive oil to the spray paint using the rag, effectively lubricating the stamped concrete to decrease the likelihood of scratching the surface.

    • 2). Allow the olive oil to sit for three minutes, and then loosen the spray paint by scrubbing it with a coarse plastic brush. Scrub the paint in a circular, clockwise motion.

    • 3). Apply more olive oil to the remaining spray paint, and allow it to sit for three minutes. Scrape away the spray paint using the plastic putty knife. Repeat steps 1 to 3 at least four times, and proceed to step 4 only if any spray paint remains on the stamped concrete.

    • 4). Dampen a fresh, clean rag with mineral spirits. Apply the mineral spirits to the remaining spray paint using the rag. Allow the mineral spirits to loosen the spray paint by letting it sit for 20 seconds. Do not wait longer than 20 seconds as mineral spirits evaporate quickly.

    • 5). Scrape away the spray paint using the plastic putty knife. Do not use a metal putty knife in place of a plastic one as this may create scratches in the stamped concrete.

    • 6). Rinse the stamped concrete with a water hose.
