How to Keep Food Warm and Safe When Operating a Food-Delivery Business

    • 1). Rinse the inside of a cooler with dishwashing soap and water to remove any dirt and other debris. Wipe it dry with a towel or turn it over and let it air dry for a few hours.

    • 2). Line the inside of the cooler with aluminum foil. Place a few folded clean towels in the bottom of the cooler.

    • 3). Heat several reusable hot/cold gel packs according to the directions on the gel packs. Place a few of them on the bottom of the cooler, and cover with a few towels.

    • 4). Place the food carefully in the cooler. Make sure the food is already in a container or is wrapped properly for delivery. Place more gel packs on the top of the food.

    • 5). Place a few folded towels around the food and gel packs to keep the food from moving around. Place the lid back on the cooler, and avoid opening the cooler until you reach the delivery address.
