How to Remove Urine Odor From a Foam Mattress

    • 1). Remove the mattress from the bed and lay it flat on an area where you don't have to worry about the floor underneath, such as the garage floor or outside on grass if weather permits.

    • 2). Soak the stained area with either 3 percent hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar.

    • 3). Use a clean cloth to gently press on the area to help the liquid get into the mattress.

    • 4). Move the mattress to a dry place and lay it flat.

    • 5). Cover the area with baking soda. This will draw moisture and odors out of the mattress, helping it to dry faster and smell better.

    • 6). Allow the mattress to dry for 24 to 48 hours. Check on it periodically and press the area firmly with your hands to check if there is still moisture inside. The mattress may need as many as three to five days to completely dry.

    • 7). Vacuum up the baking soda with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner when the mattress is dry.
