- The F/02 error is a common with the Whirlpool Duet. Although it appears on the appliance’s display screen as F/02, it is typically pronounced and described simply as the F2 error.
- Your Whirlpool Duet washing machine will show the F/02 error when it detects prolonged drainage times during the appliance’s wash cycle. If the drainage time exceeds eight minutes, the machine automatically turns off its water valves and displays the F/02 error. Potential causes for a prolonged drainage time include an unplugged or kinked drainage hose, loose electrical connections on the unit’s water pump or a clogged drainage filter.
- If you encounter the F/02 error, press the Pause/Cancel button twice in quick succession in order to clear the code from the display. Make sure the drainage hose attached to the washer is fully secured, fully functional and clean, or replace the unit’s drainage filter. Ensure all electrical connections are tight and secure on the appliance’s water pump. If the problem still isn’t found, the unit’s water pump will need to be replaced by a professional.
- The F/02 error is not the only code built in to the Whirlpool Duet washing machine. Other errors include F/H, F/05, F/06, F/07, F/09, F/10, F/11, F/13, F/14, F/15, F/dL, F/dU, and Sud. The consumer can fix some of these errors manually, though some require professional service.
