Stricter Spam Control.

According to industry experts Internet Service Providers are developing somewhat stricter spam controls. This is to try and decrease the amount of email marketing messages that are being sent out.

Why?

Because many consumers are signing up for more email campaigns then they can handle, an unmanageable amount of email campaigns. This shows that maybe Email marketing has become a victim of its own success.

"A Microsoft study estimated that half the average users inbox was filled with newsletters or deal emails" explained Technology journalist Adi Robertson when writing for the theverge.com.

It has been reported that because of this ISPs are going to make it harder for emails to reach a user's inbox.

Although the users are voluntarily signing up to receive them a large percentage of them will not even be opened which leads to ISP-Level filters to adapt and block bulk mailings.

"A customer agreeing to receive further information does not warrant brands to overload recipients with a tonne of emails" said fellow tech journalist Russell Parsons he explained that email marketing companies should be wary of sending an overload of messages to there customers as it will force unsubscribers.

Companies who invest wisely in a reliable and forward thinking Email Marketing partner will decrease the chance in ISPs going through with making spam control stricter and really will increase their chances of all round better results including:

€ A higher delivery rate

€ A higher open rate

€ A higher click through rate

€ A decrease in unsubscribers

€ An increase in ROI

Delivery rate - BrotherMailer reporting tells their clients the number of emails that reached the consumers inbox and a percentage of the emails that were sent out that reached consumer inboxes.

Open rate - is how many times an email was actually opened. BrotherMailer Reporting will give you a percentage and an amount of emails. For example, you send out 12,000 emails, our advanced reporting system will tell you that 27% and 3240 of your customers opened the email. This provides an indication as to how well you are being recognised by your recipients.

Click through rate - is how many people clicked a link/picture in the email and went through to the website. This will give you an idea which parts of your email are most popular with your customers. So the next campaign you send out you can tailor what your customers want to see.

Unsubscribers - unsubscribe are customers that choose to remove themselves from the email campaigns that they are receiving. This is normally due to irrelevant content or an overload of emails.

ROI - Return of Investment. An increase in Return of Investment explains itself, it's a performance measure used to evaluate the efficiency of an investment. The reason for Email marketing taking off like it did is because it almost guarantees a positive Return of Investment.
