If you are fresh out of aesthetician school and are anxious to get to work at a spa, then it's time to put your own kit of equipment and supplies together so that you'll be ready when an excellent opportunity comes your way.
Since most spas already have their own tables, treatment chairs, and other large electric facial equipment, we won't address those here.
Here is a quick primer on the basic portable equipment for giving facials that every beginning aesthetician should have.
Basic rotary brush unit At the beginning of facial treatment, it is necessary to remove a client's dead surface cells.
An electric rotary brush unit sits easily on a table top and is a critical tool for not only cleaning the face, but also strengthening the skin's elasticity.
A good set will come with several different brushes, and since it is powered electrically there is never any need to change batteries.
Approximate cost: $300-$450.
Facial heat mask One of the most enjoyable parts of receiving a facial is when the aesthetician applies products to the skin to soften it and make it glow.
However, not everyone's skin takes to product absorption effectively.
Applying a facial heat mask to a client's face increases absorption of products and it feels really good too! Approximate cost: $35-$50.
Facial masque product warmer Nothing is more relaxing for a client than having warm masques and other products applied to her face.
A multi-product warmer will maintain a proper temperature for up to 8 products at once, so that whether you choose to use mud, algae, or other masques, they will always be warm and ready when you are.
Approximate costs: $600-$700.
This is just a primer for some of the basic electrical equipment a new aesthetician should invest in.
With this and other facial equipment, you'll be ready to start a long and promising professional career.
