- 1). Store denatured alcohol in its original container to prevent mistaking it for any other product. If you must transfer it, purchase a new container at a hardware or camping store that is suitable for storing fuel or solvents. Do not mix with any other products and make sure to clearly label the container with a permanent marker.
- 2). Keep the bottle capped with a tight fitting lid. This will prevent the alcohol from leaking out if the bottle gets tipped over.
- 3). Place the bottle in a well-ventilated area well away from any heat sources or a place where sparks could ignite the fluid. Do not store denatured alcohol anywhere near an open flame such as a fireplace, kitchen stove or cooking area.
- 4). Do not store next to dirty rags, paper towels or other combustible items. Treat this product like gasoline or other highly flammable material when storing and handling.
