- 1). Leave used coffee grounds out overnight to dry. Spreading them out over a paper towel will help them dry evenly.
- 2). Mix the dried coffee grounds, flour, salt and sand in a mixing bowl until blended evenly. Blending the ingredients thoroughly will ensure you have a smoother consistency for the egg.
- 3). Add water gradually to the dry mixture to form a stiff dough. Be sure to incorporate the water into the mixture each time before adding more as you could end up with a runny consistency by adding too much water.
- 4). Using the dough mixture, form eggs around plastic dinosaurs in various sizes by rolling them in your hands. The dough will harden around the dinosaur toy, encasing it like a baby dinosaur inside the egg.
- 5). Hide the eggs around the house or yard for a dinosaur egg hunt, breaking open the eggs with a small hammer to "hatch" the baby dinosaurs.
- 1). Purchase a Styrofoam egg from a craft store. Eggs can be purchased in different sizes for your project.
- 2). Using non toxic paints, paint the egg in a solid color. As Styrofoam is porous, you may need to put on more than one coat of paint. Be sure to let the base coat dry thoroughly before painting a second layer.
- 3). Paint spots on the egg for an authentic look.
- 4). Gently dust the egg spots with glitter. Make sure to do this before the paint has dried as the glitter will not stick otherwise.
- 5). Let the egg dry for at least 2 hours before moving or handling it.
