- 1). Broil walleye fillets no longer than 24 hours after purchasing, catching or removing them from the freezer for the best flavor and texture.
- 2). Wash the fillets thoroughly in cold running water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Lay them on an oiled baking pan about one inch apart.
- 3). Adjust the oven racks so the walleye is approximately five inches from the heat source. Turn on the broiler and preheat the oven for approximately 10 minutes.
- 4). Combine all of the recipe ingredients together in a large bowl and mix well with a spoon. Use a butter spreader to smear the ingredient mix over each of the filets.
- 5). Place the baking pan of walleye into the oven to broil.
- 6). Broil the walleye for approximately 10 minutes or until the fillets flake freely when spread apart with a fork.
