How to Care for Indoor Spider Plants

    • 1). Keep the spider plant in a location with daytime temperatures from 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 50 to 55 degrees at night.

    • 2). Place the spider plant in an indoor area with bright light, except for midday sun that could burn the leaves.

    • 3). Water the spider plant as needed to maintain moist, but not soggy, soil during the growing season from spring through fall. Allow the soil to dry a little before watering in the winter.

    • 4). Feed the plant with a slow-release or water-soluble house plant fertilizer as directed through the growing period.

    • 5). Repot indoor spider plant only when the plant's rhizomes appear near the surface. The plant usually sends out more babies when pot bound.

    • 6). Replant the spider plant in a pot 2 inches bigger, or divide the spider plant into two or more sections. Use top-quality potting mixes and bury the plants at the same depth they were planted.
