- 1). Remove the poinsettia from the original container. Place the roots and any extra soil into the plastic sandwich bag. Center the poinsettia in the decorative pot.
- 2). Remove the other plants from their original containers. Place each one into a separate sandwich bag.
- 3). Cut the florist's foam into squares using the kitchen knife. The squares will hold the plants up at different heights inside the pot. Cut all the pieces at varying heights, none of them higher than the edge of the pot. Place the cut pieces in the pot around the poinsettia plant.
- 4). Arrange the plants on the foam squares. Place the larger foliage behind the poinsettia. The ivy should cascade down the front of the pot. Use the other plants to fill in gaps throughout the bowl.
- 5). Finish the arrangement by laying silvery Spanish moss between the plants to cover the plastic bags. Allow the Spanish moss to hang over the edge of a pot about 1/2 inch.
- 6). Water the arrangement whenever the soil begins to dry. Remove the Spanish moss. Use the turkey baster to squirt water into each plastic bag until the soil is moist.
