The Lady Luck Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV

    History

    • The Lady Luck Casino opened in 1964. Steadfast AMX sold two floors of the hotel rooms as time-shares in 2002. The CIM Group of Los Angeles, Calif., bought the hotel and casino in 2007.

    Geography

    • The casino was just off Fremont Street at the corner of Ogden and Third.

    Closing

    • The Lady Luck Casino and Hotel closed its doors in 2006, and the owners promised great renovations to both.

    Renovation

    • In July 2009, the first step toward renovation began with the demolition of part of the hotel and casino.

    Considerations

    • The casino owners must show substantial renovations beyond demolishing the building by December 2009 in order to reap rewards from the city including the donation of nearby land.

    Fun Fact

    • The casino maintained the early 60s feel and decor through the turn of the century, with drawings for the opportunity to grab cash in a wind booth similar to the one on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
