Apply in Person

• 1). Visit a local post office and ask for an application. Ask for a list of seasonal positions available.
  
  
• 2). Complete the application with basic information including your name, address, telephone number and employment history.
  
  
• 3). Submit the application along with a current resume to the postal clerk. Each post office location is responsible for hiring a certain number of seasonal employees.
  
  
• 4). Wait for a phone or written response with instructions on completing the application process.
  
  

Apply Online

• 1). Visit the USPS website (see Reference) and scroll to the bottom of the page.
  
  
• 2). Locate and click the "Rewarding Opportunities" section at the bottom of the page. Locate and click "Search Jobs Online" on the right side of the page.
  
  
• 3). Select your state and position of interest. Leave the "Functional Area" field unselected to search for all available positions. You may also enter your city and zip code for a more detailed search in your local area. Click "Start" at the bottom of the page to search for available positions.
  
  
• 4). Click the position of interest, read the position overview information to see if you qualify for the position or would like to apply for the position. Click "Apply" at the top of the page to create an account and proceed to the online application. Complete the application and submit for review.
  
  
• 5). Wait to receive a phone or written response regarding your application. If you're a person of interest, they will contact you to request additional information.
