My First Ripped Abs - Why it Was So Hard to Get Ripped

Can you forget the fist time you got ripped? I couldn't.
I still remember how wonderful it was.
The sense of accomplishment was intense.
It was a redemption for all those hard days that I had to go through.
After college, I concentrated on building my career and neglected my health completely.
I was a nerd, and always looked like one.
I worked hard to reach my financial goal and ignored all the good advice from friends and relatives who suggested that I work less and exercise more.
I didn't realize that I had a problem until the day that I collapsed in the kitchen after spending 14 hours working nonstop.
I was advised by a doctor to pay more attention to my health because I was having several health issues, all related to my sedentary lifestyle, overeating, and no exercise.
Entirely for health purposes, I started lifting weights at 29.
In the beginning, it had nothing to do with bodybuilding at all.
I was a nerd and could not imagine myself as a muscle man.
After 6 months of weightlifting, not only was I feeling stronger, but I also looked better in the mirror.
Then my attitude changed.
I decided to do weight lifting exercises for 2 purposes simultaneously-better health and better body.
It wasn't easy at all.
Lifting weights for health purposes is easy, but it is tougher when your goal is to get ripped.
I gained muscle alright, but it wasn't attractive because it was covered with a layer of fat.
I got stronger too.
I could feel it.
But after 2 years of weight lifting, I still couldn't figure out this getting ripped stuff.
I read every book and magazine on how to get ripped.
I experimented with every exercise.
The results were mediocre.
I couldn't comprehend why it was so hard.
What did I do wrong? It took me another year to figure it out.
The missing piece of the puzzle was calories.
It wasn't the specific kind of exercises.
It wasn't the certain kind of foods.
What matters the most is the calorie deficit.
You will get ripped when you create a large deficit by burning calories.
This is the absolute key.
Keep this in mind if you want to get ripped fast.
