Driving: How to drive safely & to manage driving time.
The points in this article are not new.
These are general observations based on experience and common sense.
It is essential for a person to be punctual in order to be organised in every aspect of his life.
Very common things & habits in his life reflects his character such as sleeping, eating schedules, working, driving etc.
With reference to driving which is very common nowadays and almost a part of life, here are some points to mention for safe, efficient and time managing driving/journey: - Always keep your gasoline tank full a night before for next day to avoid getting late.
Tyres' air pressure, Engine, gear box oil & brake fluid to be checked before embarking on an important or long journey, although it can be checked once in a week.
All lights and indicators should be in working condition.
Check with the weather bulletin forecast since rainy or foggy weather will delay you.
- Allow for plenty of time to reach where you are going, calculate and add an extra 10 minutes.
- Plan your route through a comparatively shorter one and where you find less traffic or jams.
This not only will lessen your time but also lessen the amount of pollution your automobile is emitting.
- Always plan your driving time with the slowest scenario in mind such as stopping at every red light, assuming all signals are red while your passing through.
Caught at traffic jams or behind a slow mover.
- Revise your time estimate as you already have an extra time.
- Call the fellow you are visiting and tell him that it is going to be little bit more time in case you are behind schedule.
- If you are habitually late set your clock and wrist watch ahead by at least 10 minutes.
Use of mobile phone is common but controversial.
A driver attention from the road can be distracted which increases the risk of accident so it is advised not to use it.
These points are commonly known by almost all the licensed drivers but it is especially for those who are youngsters or new/ less experienced.
