The American Diabetes Association has identified several groups that are at an increased risk of developing diabetes II, including older people, African Americans, Pacific Islanders, Latinos and Native Americans. • If you are urinating more than normal, it could be a sign of the onset of Diabetes II. An increase in urination is accompanied with an increase level of thirst, according to the Mayo Clinic. Loss of Weight

• Many people are looking to lose weight and are pursuing such goals through diet and exercise. People with Diabetes II experience an increase in appetite and so eat more food, yet they also experience a loss of body weight. This loss of weight is caused by the body's inability to use the glucose being consumed. According to the Mayo Clinic, the body then uses muscle and fat stored up for energy, resulting in the weight loss.

• Diabetes II can cause a person to have blurry vision. This problem is caused by fluid leaving the eyes, which dries out the eyes' lenses and causing blurred vision. The body is pulling the liquid from the eyes to compensate for the increased amount of sugar present in the blood stream. People with blurred vision have trouble focusing their eyes on objects at various distances.
  
  

Infection

• People with Diabetes II can have frequent infections or infections that do not heal as quickly as they should. Diabetes II affects a person's ability to heal and fight off infection because their weakened immune system is unable to perform as it previously did.
