- 1). Ask your family doctor-your internist, family physician or gynecologist-about local fertility clinics or doctors who specialize in reproductive medicine. These specialists usually affiliate with a specific fertility clinic, so if your doctor does not know of specific clinics, you might be able to start with a list of fertility specialists and find their clinics by locating the specialists.
- 2). Search online resources to find a fertility clinic. The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology maintains a robust set of resources about fertility clinics nationwide, as well as the health professionals who staff them (link in References). Search by state and then view results organized by city, so you can find the clinics that are closest to you.
- 3). Use online resources to find a doctor who specializes in reproductive medicine. Because these doctors staff fertility clinics, sometimes it is easier to start your search by looking for a local physician who treats fertility problems and then tracing him to a specific fertility clinic. The American Fertility Association offers a nationwide physician network that is searchable online; the American Society for Reproductive Medicine features a "find a doctor" tool as well as links to select fertility programs (links in References).
