- 1). First, shape a piece of high density plastic about 1/4 or 1/2 inch thick into the shape of your sneaker. It should not be too thick or you won't be able to get your feet into the shoe. Use a grinder or jigsaw to cut it to fit in your sneaker. Then remove the cushion insert, which includes the arch support, and insert it into your sneaker right on top of the sole.
- 2). Place the skate onto the sneaker for the most comfortable and functional fit. The end should not go to far beyond the front or back tip of the skates.
- 3). Mark off the holes to mount the skate blade on the sneaker sole using a black magic marker.
- 4). Drill through the sneaker sole using a drill sized to the rivets that you will eventually use. These should fit the mounting holes on the skate blade. Remove the high density plastic piece and place it in a vice. Then drill matching holes into this with a drill.
- 5). Reinsert the plastic piece in the sneaker and be sure the holes line up. Then remove the piece and coat one side with hot glue, avoiding the holes you just drilled. Insert it into the sneaker and let it dry.
- 6). Realign the skate with the mounting holes and rivet in place. You will have to remove the sneaker inner cushion to do this effectively.
- 7). Then put the cushion back inside. Test the new sneaker skate and be sure it is stable. Always wear a helmet when using your sneaker skates.
