Just think about this for one moment: A never ending life with God that will be filled with unspeakable joy, peace and love, and after we have been with Him for ten million years, living life to the fullest every day with Jesus, we will have only just begun life eternal.
Does that get you excited? It certainly gets me very excited.
Through the Bible we are promised life eternal, and immortality.
We are told in Corinthians that no eye has seen or ear hear, or mind thought what God has in store for those who love and serve Him.
Now God isn't saying, "you can't understand what's in store, so don't bother thinking about it".
No, quite the opposite, He WANTS us to be thinking about life eternal and getting excited about it.
Just think, if you went to someone with news of a fantastic holiday for them, but you knew they could not imagine how nice this holiday was going to be, would you not be excited for them and want them to think about it? Of course you would.
Which is why we find little snippets of information about the new earth and the new Jerusalem in the Bible.
In Isaiah 65, God gives us a sneak preview of the new earth, and in Revelation 21-22 He gives us a taste of what the New Jerusalem will be like.
2 Corinthians 4:18..

'While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
' Why is it that we Christians ignore the above verse? We profess to know Jesus, but continue to live in this world like we never knew Him.
We keep worrying about vain things.
We like to hold onto the things we have gained, like houses, cars, money, clothes etc..
As Paul says above, these things are temporary, and we shouldn't be looking at them, as if they were worth something.
The only thing that is worth anything is Christ Jesus and the eternal life He has promised to those who follow Him.
Are you really following Him? Are you thinking about eternity with Him? Go outside on a clear night and take a good look at the stars out there.
They are just a fraction of what God has created.
Then take a look at the things you have, your house, car, clothes, money.
Do you still think you've made it big, with your nice house and car on the drive? I hope not, because they will be destroyed when Jesus returns.
And I just hope that you have not put more trust in those things, than you have with Jesus.
God has given us those things to use for His glory, to further His Kingdom on earth, not for your own pleasure.
We need to start letting go of the things of this world, and start focusing on life eternal with our Lord Jesus.
What joy should fill our hearts to know of the life to come! Just to worship at the throne of God in Heaven will bring indescribable joy.
Jesus is coming soon, let's get our eyes off this world and onto Him.
